Christmas Atmosphere with Danish Design Sunday November 2nd
Welcome to Jette Frölich’s Christmas exhibition at Lysebu! Frölich has been synonymous with Christmas in her homeland Denmark for many years and designed her first decorations and stencils as early as 1964. She has decorated Lysebu every year since 1994 and there is always a full house and wonderful Christmas atmosphere on opening day. True to tradition, we also invite you to an elegant dinner in honor of Jette Frölich.
From Jette’s own words:
“The setting for my exhibition could not be better than here at Lysebu. The place is made for my Christmas decorations, and the atmosphere is given in advance.”
Program for the Day:
1:00 PM Official opening with our Danish ambassador, Louise Bang Jespersen
Fire bowls, complimentary mulled wine, gingerbread cookies and marshmallows served outside in the courtyard.
Grindbakken school choir delights us with beautiful singing.
1:30 PM The sales exhibition opens
Our restaurant is open and offers light refreshments with Danish pastries and our famous Danish open sandwiches.
You will also meet author Lise Mari Stang-Jacobsen, who will be signing her new cookbook where she has collected old Christmas cookie recipes.
5:00 PM Dinner in honor of Jette Frölich with entertainment by Ellen Horn and the National Theatre’s conductor Per Christian Revholt.
As in previous years, several of our local schools, in collaboration with Jette Frölich, have made decorations for their own Christmas trees which we are fortunate to have displayed around Lysebu. There will naturally be a competition for the most beautiful Christmas tree later in December.
