02.06.26 Concert with the Friends of the Oslo Philharmonic

Concert and Lecture

Friends of the Oslo Philharmonic and Lysebu Hotel invite you to spring’s most beautiful adventure at Lysebu

Tuesday, June 2, 2026, 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM

Why is this spring’s most beautiful adventure? Not least because of the venue Lysebu, with its beautiful buildings, stunning surroundings, and cozy interior. In addition, we can promise a wonderful performance, where Professor Are Sandbakken’s humorous, inspiring, and award-winning lecture on Johan Svendsen, “The Poor Boy from Vika Who Became a World Star,” is interwoven with beautiful music by Johan Svendsen and Beethoven, performed by a string quartet from the Oslo Philharmonic, creating a unique and different experience. Sandbakken is also a former violist in the Oslo Philharmonic.

There will be refreshments (with and without alcohol) upon arrival and registration.

The event costs NOK 450 per participant, an amount that covers the musicians’ fees. Registration is binding and non-refundable. You can register by clicking here: REGISTRATION.

There is a limited number of seats. Members of the Friends of the Oslo Philharmonic and Lysebu’s guests have priority for tickets, but tickets will also be available for open sale. To secure your spot, you can become a member of the Friends of the Oslo Philharmonic by clicking HERE.

Our events are very popular, and it pays to register early. The deadline for ticket booking is Tuesday, May 19.

We hope you have the opportunity to join us for an atmospheric summer evening of music, lectures, and fellowship in beautiful surroundings.

We can promise a wonderful concert featuring a string quartet with musicians from the Oslo Philharmonic, performing a varied Norwegian and international summer repertoire. In addition, there will be an inspiring lecture to set the tone for the evening.
