Art at Lysebu

Over the years, a lot of art has been collected in the form of paintings, drawings and statues that adorn the premises at Lysebu. If you have an interest in art, you will enjoy wandering around our premises and discovering both one and another, more or less, well-known artist. For example, you will find sculpture by Dyre Vaa, and our restaurant, Skogstuen, is named after Per Kirkeby’s painting that was painted for our restaurant. This part of the restaurant is decorated only with Per Kirkeby’s art.

From fjord to mountain

A meeting between the fairytale castle in the forest and the art center by the fjord has led to works from Henie Onstad’s art collection being displayed at Lysebu. The collaboration is unique in its nature and has led to Lysebu being a permanent exhibition venue for art deposited from Henie Onstad.

Lysebu is primarily a place for meetings between people and Henie Onstad a place for meetings with art. By uniting these two, we invite our guests to an inspiring experience. The greatest focus has been placed on Nordic artists, with a strong element of Danish artists. We invite you to look for art by e.g. Jan Groth, Ulf Valde Jensen, Carl Nesjar, Kjell Nupen, Zdenka Rusova, Inger Sitter, Kåre Tveter, Jakob Weidemann, Daginn Werenskiold, Sverre Wyller, Per Inge Bjørlo and many, many more.
