Christmas Spirit with Danish Design Sunday, November 1
Welcome to Jette Frölich’s Christmas exhibition at Lysebu! Frölich has been synonymous with Christmas in her home country Denmark for many years, having designed her first decorations and stencils as early as 1964. She has adorned Lysebu every year since 1994, and the opening day always sees a full house and a wonderful Christmas atmosphere.
From Jette’s mouth:
“The setting for my exhibition could not be better than here at Lysebu. The place is as if created for my Christmas decorations, and the atmosphere is given in advance.”
Program for the Day:
1:00 PM Official opening with Oslo’s Mayor, Anne Lindboe, and the Danish Ambassador, Anne Hougaard Jensen
Bonfire pans, complimentary biskop (Norwegian variation of mulled wine), gingerbread, and marshmallows will be served outside in the courtyard.
Grindbakken School Choir, Måltrostene, delights us with beautiful song.
1:30 PM The sales exhibition opens
Our restaurant is open and offers exquisite treats from our own patisserie, as well as our famous Danish open-faced sandwiches.
As in previous years, several of our local schools, in collaboration with Jette Frölich, have created decorations for their own Christmas trees, which we are fortunate to have displayed around Lysebu. There will, of course, be a crowning of the finest Christmas tree later in November.
The exhibition runs until December 20.
Jette Frölich Design has created Christmas collections for prestigious design houses such as Royal Copenhagen, Georg Jensen, Rosendahl, and Holmegaard.
