Wedding FAQ
There are many details to consider when getting married. To make it a bit easier for you as a couple, we have gathered the most frequently asked questions.
Accommodation:
- Can guests stay overnight?
Your guests are welcome to stay with us. We can reserve rooms and hold them until 10 weeks before your event. Any rooms not confirmed by then will be released.
- Do guests have to stay overnight?
For events in Utsikten and Kavalersalen, there is a minimum requirement of 10 overnight rooms.
- Accommodation for the wedding couple.
We offer the bridal suite or one of the junior suites to the bridal couple, depending on the venue where the wedding reception is held. It is possible to have this room from Friday.
- Check-in and check-out.
Check-in from 3:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM (1:00 PM on Sundays at no extra charge), late check-out for newlyweds at 1:00 PM. Other guests can request early check-in/late check-out for an additional fee of NOK 250 per room.
- Wellness Department:
All resident guests have free access to our wellness department. Our in-house masseuse, Reidun Løvstuen, offers massage services. You can book here: Massage
- Parking
We have a large outdoor parking area. 3 hours free parking – beyond that NOK 40 per hour and NOK 180 per day. We have 7 charging points – NOK 220 per charge.
- Is it possible to have a wedding ceremony at Lysebu?
You can book additional indoor or outdoor space for the ceremony itself. We have several beautiful options. The couple must arrange their own officiant.
- Our Function Rooms:
Utsikten 70-108 guests
Kavalersalen 40-80 guests
Skogstuen 30-60 guests
Weidemannsalen 20-35 guests
Library up to 16 guests, but we recommend maximum 14
Venue rental varies according to the type of venue and number of guests.
If you have fewer than the minimum number, you will be charged for the “missing” guests.
- Table Decorations
Tables are set with white tablecloths, all cutlery, dinnerware, and glassware from us. We also provide tealight holders or silver candelabras with white candles. You arrange your own flowers, place cards, menu cards, seating plans, etc., but ask us if you would like recommendations for good suppliers. Flower arrangements and bouquets must be delivered ready-made/assembled. We will help set everything up on the tables, provided all materials are delivered to us by 4:00 PM the day before the event.
- Other Venue Decorations
You are welcome to bring free-standing decorations, but due to our interior, we request that nothing is hung or attached to the ceiling/walls.
- Opening Hours
Regular hours: service until 12:00 AM, venue closes at 12:30 AM
Extended hours for NOK 3,750: service until 1:00 AM, venue closes at 1:30 AM
Extended hours for NOK 7,500: service until 2:30 AM, venue closes at 3:00 AM
- Technical Equipment
Screen and projector are available upon request. Microphone is available in our largest halls: Utsikten, Skogstuen, and Kavalersalen. (Price upon request).
It is also possible to connect your own iPad, mobile phone, or PC to our system free of charge.
- Can we have a DJ?
Yes, you arrange this yourself, and the DJ can usually set up during the break when our staff clears and prepares for dancing and party after dinner is finished.
We have good partners for music, sound, and lighting if you would like recommendations.
- Is confetti allowed?
Confetti creates challenges, so we do not allow its use, either indoors or outdoors. Violation will result in a fee of NOK 10 000,-.
Service:
- Is it allowed to bring your own cakes?
Choice of cake from our patisserie.
If you wish to bring a wedding cake from another supplier, you may do so for a service fee of NOK 60 per person plus a potential assembly fee of NOK 750.
You may bring your own cakes for regular events for a service fee of NOK 60 per person. Cakes must be labeled with the name and venue of the event.
- Is it allowed to bring your own alcohol, snacks, or candy?
It is not permitted to bring any drinks or food other than agreed-upon cakes. Snacks, nuts, macarons, petits fours, etc. can be ordered from our patisserie.
