WEDDING FAQ

There’s a lot to consider when planning a wedding, and many details to think about. To make it a little easier for you as a bridal couple, we have compiled the questions we most frequently encounter.

ACCOMMODATION:

  • Can guests stay overnight? 

Your guests are welcome to stay with us; we can reserve rooms and hold them until 6 weeks before your event. Any rooms not confirmed by then will be released. You’ll receive a dedicated code so guests can contact us when they wish to book their rooms.

  • Is it mandatory for guests to stay overnight? 

For events in Utsikten and Kavalersalen, there’s a requirement of a minimum of 10 overnight rooms.

  • Accommodation for the bridal couple. 

For the bridal couple, we offer either the Lysebu Suite or one of the junior suites, depending on the wedding reception venue. It’s possible to have this room from Friday.

  • Check-in and check-out. 

Check-in from 3:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM, with a late check-out for the bridal couple at 1:00 PM. Other guests can request early check-in/late check-out for an additional fee of NOK 250 per room.

  • Wellness area: 

All staying guests have free access to our wellness area. Our in-house masseuse, Reidun Løvstuen, offers massages. You can book them here: Massage

  • Beer Brewing 

Lysebu Brewery invites you to brew your own beer for the wedding. You can serve your guests self-brewed beer while they await the bridal couple during photography. Learn more here: Beer Brewing

  • Parking 

There’s free parking and ample parking spaces at Lysebu. We have 8 type 2 electric car chargers and 4 electric car chargers with power outlets.

  • Is it possible to hold the ceremony at Lysebu? 

You can book an additional indoor or outdoor space for the ceremony itself. We have several beautiful options. The officiant needs to be arranged by the bridal couple.

  • Our Event Spaces: 

Utsikten – 70 to 108 guests

Kavalersalen – 40 to 80 guests

Skogstuen – 30 to 60 guests

Sjælland – 20 to 35 guests

Biblioteket (Library) – up to 14 guests

Rental fees vary based on the type of space and the number of guests.

If you have fewer guests than the minimum requirement, you’ll be charged for the ‘missing’ guests.

  • Table Decorations 

The tables are set with white table cloths, all cutlery, tableware, and glassware are provided by us. We also provide tea light holders or silver candelabras with white candles. Flowers, place cards, menu cards, seating plans, etc., are arranged by you, but feel free to ask for recommendations if you need good suppliers. Flower arrangements and bouquets must be delivered ready-made. We can assist in setting everything up on the tables, provided all materials are delivered to us by 4:00 PM the day before the event.

Other Venue Decor Freestanding decorations can be brought, but for the sake of the interior, we request that nothing is hung or affixed to the ceiling/walls.

  • Opening Hours 

The bar closes at 1:30 AM, and the premises close at 2:00 AM. If you want to continue the party, it’s possible for an additional fee; consider also ordering late-night snacks.

  • Technical Equipment 

It’s possible to use a screen and projector by arrangement. Microphones are available in our largest rooms, Utsikten, Skogstuen, and Kavalersalen. You can also connect your own iPad, mobile phone, or PC to our system. This is free of charge.

  • Can we have a DJ? 

Yes, you can arrange for a DJ yourself, and they can usually set up during the break while our staff prepares for dancing and partying after dinner.

We have good partners for music, sound, and lighting if you need recommendations.

  • Is it allowed to use confetti? 

Confetti poses challenges, so we do not allow its use, either indoors or outdoors. Violation will incur a fee of NOK 5,000.

Service:

  • Is it allowed to bring our own cakes? 

Provided you purchase the wedding cake from our confectioner, you can bring your own cakes without an additional charge. Otherwise, a service charge of NOK 50 per person will apply.

  • Is it allowed to bring our own alcohol, snacks, or candy? 

You are not allowed to bring any other drinks or food except for agreed-upon cakes. Snacks, nuts, macarons, petit fours, etc., can be ordered from our confectionery.
